Agent and “Interrogator”
As crime becomes increasingly technologized and ambiguous, questions of agency and moral responsibility require renewed scrutiny. Drawing on cultural criminology and interrogation psychology, this project investigates how AI-driven systems can function as instruments of both reflection and coercion. Through interviews with law enforcement and institutional staff, we designed an interactive installation featuring a virtual interrogator agent. Exhibited in two stages, the work simulates controlled questioning to provoke self-awareness and emotional ambiguity. By blending algorithmic judgment with spatial aesthetics, the installation challenges viewers to reconsider the boundaries of autonomy, complicity, and institutional power.
